Audrey Hepburn

Mr. left early this morning to drive down to the Alps for some snowboarding. Being home alone I am spending the nights watching old films, I am aware of this being a bit of a cliche, but I do adore Audrey Hepburn and her films!
Charming, eccentric Holly Golightly and her wonderful wardrobe full of beautiful Givenchy dresses, who would not love to have the LBD from the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's in their wardrobe?
Funny face about the shy bookshop clerk and amateur philosopher Jo Stockton. Her beatnik clothes and improvised dancing makes me snicker and think about modern day hipsters.
As Jo says about the fashion industry: "it is chichi, and an unrealistic approach to self-impressions as well as economics".
Eliza Doolittle's, as well as the other high society women's, outfits in Fair Lady on the Ascot Racecourse just make you laugh, I love all the crazy hats. And of course Eliza's vulgar lapse into Cockney while encouraging a horse to win a race: "C'mon Dover, move your bloomin' arse!"
And there's Sabrina about the shy, young daughter of a chauffeur who returns from culinary school in Paris and as an attractive and sophisticated woman and dazzles everyone. Her outfits are very French chic and quirky, and the film features yet another stunning Givenchy dress, just see the bottom right corner.

And not to be forgotten is Roman Holiday, not so much for the sake of its sartorial qualities, but rather because it is one of the first films I can remember watching and loving.
