Peniche

Our next stop was Peniche, known for its surf beaches where Mr. was hoping to catch some waves. We set up camp, explored the cliffs and prepared a great dinner.

Unfortunately the weather on Tuesday was not the best for the beach or for surfing, we relaxed and had a walk around town, at the campsite that afternoon everyone was busy securing their tents for the incoming storm. We were making sandbags, fastening guy wires to the nearby trees, and replacing the pegs with branches that would hopefully hold better.

The tent we borrowed from my parents was obviously made for the Scandinavian summer and could handle the rain rather well, but unfortunately the wind tore some holes in the tent and we did not get much sleep between the howling of the wind and the beating of the rain. Oh the joys of camping!
